Drought rapid assessment survey for south Tarawa and Betio

ChildFund has successfully completed a survey on the drought rapid assessment with random households here on South Tarawa and Betio.

More than 500 households and nearly 60 church leaders participated, including all church villages in Betio and for TUC, church villages in Bonriki East to Eita East. Red Cross has also interviewed households and leaders on TUC from Eita West to Bairiki. Households were asked in the survey about the challenges they are facing to access water for drinking and other needs, the impact of the drought in relation to agriculture, livestock and earning enough to make ends meet, and other family and personal problems (stress) associated with not having enough water.
