Building Blocks

Young people can thrive when they have at least a basic understanding of reading, writing and maths. ChildFund Kiribati runs a Building Blocks program to help out-of-school youth to build skills in these areas, so they can continue into the formal education system and have a brighter future.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 12pm.

Bridging Program

Through our partnership with Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT), we implement our Bridging Program, giving young people the technical skills required to move onto higher education programs offered by KIT.

Held Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 4pm for one year.

Family Wellbeing

As part of our commitment to working with families in Betio, our team visits houses to share valuable information about financial planning and about how to keep children safe and healthy. We also invite young people to join our ongoing programs held around South Tarawa.

Areas of focus: budgeting, nutrition, positive parenting, water, sanitation and hygiene, and more!

Disaster Resilience

ChildFund Kiribati is involved in many initiatives with local and international partners to support i-Kiribati to deal with the many challenges posed by climate change and sea level rise.

Some of these initiatives include: household water testing, installation of solar water distillation systems and rain water harvesting; the distribution and evaluation of UNICEF Wash kits to help during droughts.
